Research & Advocacy Initiatives
Advancing the Science of Human-Animal Bonds
At the Animal Bonding Center, we are committed to pioneering research that explores and expands the understanding of how interactions with animals can significantly improve human well-being. Our research initiatives aim to bridge the gap between practical animal-assisted therapy and scientific inquiry, ensuring that our methods are both effective and evidence-based.
Our Focus Areas
Emotional and Cognitive Benefits
We investigate how regular interactions with our therapy bunnies can enhance emotional health, reduce stress, and improve cognitive functions across different age groups and conditions. Our studies explore outcomes such as mood improvement, anxiety reduction, and enhanced social interaction.
Technological Innovations in Therapy
We explore how technology, such as virtual reality and biometric feedback, can enhance the therapeutic effects of animal interactions. This includes studying the impact of our personalized VR experiences and interactive tools on emotional and psychological well-being.
Behavioral Science and Animal Welfare
Our research extends to understanding the behavioral needs and welfare of therapy animals. We ensure our bunnies receive the best care and are comfortable in their roles, studying factors that influence their behavior and effectiveness as therapy animals.
Animal-Assisted Therapy for Chronic Conditions
Our research delves into the role of animal-assisted therapy in managing and alleviating symptoms of chronic illnesses and disabilities. We focus on conditions like autism, PTSD, and chronic pain, examining how therapy animals can be integrated into treatment plans to improve quality of life.
our projects
Through our partnerships with Bunny Gurus (#1 Rated Therapeutic Bunny Program in SF Bay Area) & DeepSAFE Technology (Deeper Security and Safer Technology for People and Enterprises) we are developing the following programs:
other projects
VR Therapy Pilot Study: We are conducting a pilot study to assess the effectiveness of virtual reality sessions featuring our therapy bunnies in reducing anxiety and improving mood among participants unable to access in-person therapy.
Longitudinal Emotional Well-Being Study: This ongoing study tracks the long-term effects of regular animal-assisted therapy sessions on emotional resilience and cognitive functions in seniors living in assisted care facilities.
Chronic Pain Management Research: Partnering with healthcare providers, we are examining how interactions with therapy bunnies can complement traditional treatments for chronic pain, aiming to reduce reliance on medication and improve patient outcomes.
Collaborative Partnerships
Our research is strengthened through partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and other organizations. These collaborations allow us to share knowledge, access diverse resources, and broaden the impact of our findings.
