At the Animal Bonding Center, we are committed to pioneering research that explores and expands the understanding of how interactions with animals can positively influence human wellness and learning. Our research initiatives aim to bridge the gap between practical animal-bonding experiences and scientific inquiry, ensuring that our methods are both innovative and research-informed.
We investigate how regular interactions with our trained companion bunnies can support emotional well-being, reduce stress, and promote cognitive engagement across different age groups. Our studies explore outcomes such as improved mood, greater relaxation, and enhanced social connection.
We explore how technology, such as virtual reality and biometric feedback, can enhance the benefits of animal interactions. This includes studying the impact of our personalized VR experiences and interactive tools on emotional well-being, stress reduction, and overall engagement.
Our research also focuses on understanding the behavioral needs and welfare of our animals. We ensure our bunnies receive the best care and remain comfortable in their roles, studying the factors that influence their behavior and their effectiveness in creating positive human–animal connections.
Our research explores the role of animal bonding in supporting individuals with diverse needs and life challenges. We study how interactions with trained companion animals can promote emotional well-being, resilience, and comfort, with a focus on creating approaches that enhance quality of life across different populations.
Through our partnerships with Bunny Gurus (#1 Rated Bunny Bonding & Wellness Program in SF Bay Area) & DeepSAFE Technology (Deeper Security and Safer Technology for People and Enterprises) we are developing the following programs:
VR Wellness Pilot Study
We are conducting a pilot study to explore the effectiveness of virtual reality sessions featuring our trained companion bunnies in promoting relaxation and improving mood among participants who cannot access in-person animal-bonding experiences.
Longitudinal Animal-Bonding Study
This ongoing study tracks the long-term effects of regular animal-bonding sessions on emotional well-being, resilience, and cognitive engagement in seniors living in assisted care facilities.
Animal Bonding & Comfort Research
In partnership with community organizations, we are examining how interactions with our trained bunnies can provide comfort, reduce stress, and support overall wellness for individuals managing chronic challenges.
Our research is strengthened through partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and other organizations. These collaborations allow us to share knowledge, access diverse resources, and broaden the impact of our findings.
We welcome researchers, students, and practitioners to join our mission. Whether you’re interested in contributing to our studies, collaborating on projects, or simply learning more about our work, there are many ways to get involved:
